Robert Chesley Gardner is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Margaret Elaine Gardner; his children, Daniel Gardner and Rebecca Collins; and his cherished grandchildren, Olivia, Mason, and Claire.
He is also survived by his younger sister, Patricia Reynolds, along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends who will continue to honor his memory.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, William and Eleanor Gardner, whose values and guidance shaped the man he became.

Funeral Details
A visitation for Robert Chesley Gardner will be held on Friday, May 22, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Greenwood Memorial Chapel in Asheville, North Carolina.
Funeral services celebrating Robert’s life will take place on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Michael Turner officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Hills Cemetery, where family and friends will gather to pay their final respects.
The Gardner family welcomes all who knew Robert to attend and celebrate the life of a man whose kindness and dedication left a lasting impression on so many.
