Paul Joseph Stargardt of Abbotsford passed away on May 18, 2026, at the age of 47.
Born on June 14, 1978, in Marshfield to Peter and Geri Stargardt, Paul spent most of his life in central Wisconsin, where he became known for his easygoing personality, love of cars, and deep dedication to his son.
He attended school in Marshfield and worked a variety of jobs throughout the years, most recently serving as Assistant Manager at River Country Co-Op in Abbotsford. Friends and coworkers knew him as someone dependable, approachable, and always willing to help when needed.
Paul enjoyed simple things that brought him peace and excitement at the same time. He loved fishing, spending time outdoors, and especially his 1974 Chevrolet Nova SS, a car that reflected both his personality and his appreciation for classic craftsmanship. People who knew Paul understood how much pride he took in it.
But more than any hobby or possession, the role that mattered most to him was being a father.
His son Grayson was the center of his world. Whether they were outside exploring, spending time at the park, or simply sharing everyday moments together through every season of the year, Paul valued the time he spent with him above everything else. Those memories became the most meaningful part of his life.
Paul is survived by his parents, Peter and Geri Stargardt; his son, Grayson Stargardt, and Grayson’s mother, Devon Venzke; his sister, Toni Stargardt; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Susan Stargardt, and his grandparents, Frank and Louise Bock, and Pete and Joan Stargardt.
Those who knew Paul will remember his quiet sense of humor, his love for the outdoors, and the pride he carried as a father. His absence will be deeply felt by the people closest to him, but the memories he created—especially with his son—will continue to live on.
