John Andrew Guerrisky, Jr., age 67, of South Williamsport, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at his home, surrounded by his loving wife. His passing followed complications from Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy and the rare disease Scleromyxedema.
He was born on January 27, 1959, in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania, to Shirley (Olson) Guerrisky and the late John A. Guerrisky, Sr. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and a man whose life was built on hard work, honesty, and quiet strength.
John shared 46 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Anna E. (Mahonski) Guerrisky. Their life together was filled with commitment, family values, and lasting devotion that shaped the foundation of their home.
From an early age, John developed a strong work ethic that stayed with him throughout his life. He was known as someone dependable, steady, and always willing to help others without expecting anything in return. He later retired from Aamco Transmissions after more than 40 years of service as a sales manager.
Outside of work, John found his greatest happiness in time spent with family. He especially cherished being a “poppy” to his grandchildren, who brought him immense joy and pride.
He enjoyed simple but meaningful activities, including long bike rides along the Rails to Trails and fishing trips to Canada in the fall. These moments reflected his appreciation for peace, nature, and time away with the people he loved most.
John is survived by his wife Anna; his mother Shirley Guerrisky; his daughters Sarah Mest (Travis) of Bristow, Virginia, and Mary Codi of Sinking Spring; and his five grandchildren, Evelyn, Ava, Andrew, Ethan, and Emily. He is also survived by his sisters Linda Carlin (Brad), Lisa Jenks (Charlie), Joni Boyles (Denny), and brothers Gary Guerrisky (Dawn) and Eric Guerrisky (Nancy), along with many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, John A. Guerrisky, Sr., and his brother Greg Guerrisky.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 21 at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond Street, Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 22 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 800 W. Central Ave, South Williamsport, with Rev. Glenn E. McCreary officiating. Interment will be held privately for the family.
