Jennifer Diane Taylor Obituary May 8, 2026 | Monticello, IN

Jennifer Diane Taylor, age 71, of Monticello, formerly of Rensselaer, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, May 8, 2026. She was born on January 8, 1955, in Rensselaer, Indiana, to James and Lelia Arlene “Pete” (Johnson) Walter.

Jennifer graduated from Rensselaer Central High School with the Class of 1973. She faithfully worked for 19 years as a machine operator at Donaldson Filtration in Monticello. Jennifer was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church.

Jennifer had a passion for riding motorcycles and especially enjoyed participating in charity poker runs. She also found great joy in gardening and caring for the flowers around her home. Known for her warm heart and outgoing personality, Jennifer never met a stranger and was affectionately known by many friends as “Momma Jennifer.”

On June 14, 1997, Jennifer married the love of her life, Jeff Taylor, who preceded her in death on March 31, 2016.

Jennifer is lovingly remembered by her children, Beth (Brad) Dunlap of Rensselaer and Jason (Tera) Hornbeck of Georgia; her mother, Arlene “Pete” Walter; her grandchildren, Cody Litner, Brooklyn Dunlap, Brynnlee Dunlap, Daylynn Babcock, Addison Hornbeck, Autumn Hornbeck, and Zach Hornbeck; three great-grandchildren; and her siblings, James (Keery) Walter of Texas, David (Becky) Walter, and Steve (Caroline) Walter, both of Rensselaer.

She was preceded in death by her father, James Walter, and her beloved husband, Jeff Taylor.

Friends are invited to visit with Jennifer’s family on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Jackson Funeral Chapel, with funeral services following immediately at 12:00 p.m. Pastor Bill Taylor will officiate. Inurnment will take place at Sunset Memory Gardens at a later date.
