Deborah Romano Obituary

Deborah “Deb” Ann Romano (née Hendricks) passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Friday, May 8, 2026, at the age of 65.

Born on July 31, 1960, in Norristown, Pennsylvania, Deb was the cherished daughter of the late William and Frances (Cottetta) Hendricks.

A devoted Navy wife, Deb shared a once-in-a-lifetime love story with her husband, Steve. From childhood sweethearts at just 13 years old to over 50 years side by side and 46 years of marriage, their bond was built on loyalty, laughter, strength, and unconditional love.

Deb’s greatest joy was her family. She was a beloved presence throughout her community, always supporting her husband and children in everything they did. Whether serving as team mom, keeping score, driving neighborhood kids to football practice, or cheering from the sidelines, Deb was everyone’s biggest supporter and loudest cheerleader.

She was also the ultimate Philadelphia Eagles fan—passionate, proud, and loyal every season. Deb enjoyed playing golf and was a four-time NAS Patuxent River two-person scramble champion. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, talking for hours with her sister Susan, and affectionately directing her husband on just about everything.

Deb had a special gift for making everyone feel welcome, comfortable, and loved. Her kindness, humor, strength, positivity, and unforgettable “Debbie-isms” will live on forever in the hearts of all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband, Steven “Big” A. Romano Sr.; her children, Michael A. Romano Sr. and Heather L. Romano; her sister, Susan Serroni; her mother-in-law, Gloria “Cookie” Romano; her cherished grandchildren, Michael Jr., John, Kevon, Leah, Jason, Cameron, and Carter; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, friends, and her four beloved granddoggies.

She was preceded in death by her son, Steven A. Romano Jr.; her father-in-law, Raymond Romano Sr.; her daughter-in-law, Jennifer (Dayoc) Romano; and her brother-in-law, Rudy Serroni.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Thursday, May 14, 2026, from 8:30 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. at Holy Saviour Church, 407 East Main Street, Norristown, PA, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements are under the care of Volpe Funeral Home/East Norriton Crematory.
