Bobbie Jo Coe Obituary: Remembering the Jackson, MI and Central NY Native

It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Bobbie Jo Coe (known fondly to many as Bobbi), age 53, who left us on May 20, 2026, at Albany Medical Center following sudden medical complications.

Born on December 13, 1972, in Jackson, Michigan, Bobbie Jo was a vibrant soul from the very beginning. She spent her formative younger years moving between the tight-knit communities of Jackson, Michigan, and Clinton, New York. Along the way, she accumulated a wealth of lifelong friendships and cherished memories, ultimately graduating from East Jackson High School with the Class of 1991. Shortly after, she chose to make Central New York her permanent home, planting deep roots and building the family that would become the absolute center of her universe.

Bobbie Jo was a devoted mother, a loving daughter, a protective sister, a deeply committed partner, and a fiercely loyal friend. She was truly a one-of-a-kind woman who left an indelible mark on everyone she met. Her children were her greatest pride, her joy, and her self-proclaimed finest accomplishment in life. For many years, she shared her life with her former husband, Christopher Coe of Waterville, NY, and together, through every twist and turn, they raised their three daughters with boundless love and fierce determination. Later in life, Bobbie Jo found a beautiful chapter of love, true companionship, and deep happiness with her longtime partner, Joseph Piluso of Whitesboro, NY.

To truly know Bobbie Jo was to know a woman of unmatched resilience. After suffering a life-changing stroke, she was thrown into a path of tremendous physical and emotional obstacles. Yet, where others might have faltered, Bobbie Jo fought back with remarkable courage and an unyielding determination to regain her independence. She refused to let her circumstances define her, choosing instead to meet life head-on with honesty, laughter, and an iconic, sharp-witted sarcastic sense of humor that could instantly shatter the tension in any room.

She found her deepest peace and happiness in the simplicity of nature and water. Bobbie Jo lived for warm, sun-drenched days at the lake, the gentle rocking of being out on the boat, and the absolute tranquility of floating peacefully in the water. These moments, surrounded by the laughter of her family and the people she cared about most, were her sanctuary.

Her spirit could never be broken, and her heart remained fiercely devoted to her family through every single chapter of her journey. Though heaven has gained an angel, her memory will live on as a masterclass in resilience, love, and authenticity for all who knew her. She will be missed beyond the capacity of words.

Bobbie Jo was reunited in eternity with her beloved son, Ryan Coe, and her biological father, Ray Keagle.

Her legacy continues through her surviving family: her loving parents, Mary and Richard Goodson; her three treasured daughters, Courtney Coe (and her partner Jarred Russell) of Queensbury, NY, Amber Coe (and her partner Jonah Rogers) of Oriskany Falls, NY, and Kelsey Coe (and her partner Matthew Green) of Waterville, NY; her longtime partner and companion, Joseph Piluso of Whitesboro, NY; her brother, Matthew Keagle (and his wife Veronica) of Waxhaw, NC; her sister, Jessi Keagle of Michigan Center, MI; her cherished niece, Bridgette Keagle; and her great-nephew, Chandler Keagle. She also leaves behind a large, loving circle of extended family members, neighbors, and close friends whose lives were forever brightened by her unforgettable spirit.
