Robert & Dorothy Davidson Obituary: Celebration of Life Announced in Geneseo, IL

David Wayne Clarke, 71, formerly of Copenhagen, New York, passed away on March 12, 2026, in Houston, Texas. He will be remembered as a hardworking and humble man whose life was centered around faith, family, and quiet acts of care for the people around him.

Born on December 1, 1954, in Watertown, David was the son of the late Terry and Jean Georginia Bestor Clarke. He grew up in Copenhagen and graduated from Copenhagen Central School before serving in the United States Navy for one year. Those who knew David often described him as someone who never needed attention to make an impact. He valued simple living, worked hard throughout his life, and stayed deeply devoted to the people he loved.

Most recently, David worked for Accent Delivery Services in Houston, Texas. He approached work the same way he approached life—with consistency, humility, and dedication. Outside of work, he enjoyed running, caring for his lawn, and volunteering through his church community. He attended The Met Church in Houston, where his faith remained an important part of his daily life.

Family meant everything to David. He especially treasured time spent with his daughter and grandchildren, who brought him immense pride and joy. Even in quiet moments, he found happiness simply being present with the people closest to him.

David is survived by his daughter, Amber Clarke; his grandchildren, Adrian, Anastacio III, Azriel, and Arianny; and his siblings, Debbie Clarke Cato (George) of North Carolina, Dianne Clarke Weaver (Gary) of Gouverneur, Brenda Clarke Shelmidine (Warren) of Lorraine, Dale Clarke (Helen) of Copenhagen, and Kenneth Clarke (Brenda Bakker) of Tennessee. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, extended relatives, and longtime friends who will carry his memory forward.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Terry and Jean Clarke, and his brothers, Jimmy and Bruce Clarke.

Those closest to David remember him as a man of quiet faith and steady character. He believed deeply in the Lord and found comfort in scripture throughout his life. One passage especially reflected the peace he carried within himself: “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want… Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for Thou art with me.”

His family shared that no matter how far apart loved ones may live, family bonds remain lasting and unbreakable through love, memory, and faith.

A funeral service for David Wayne Clarke will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 12, 2026, at Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc. Family and friends may gather from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. The service will be led by his cousin, Pastor Earl LaLone. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Copenhagen, New York.

Condolences may be shared online at www.isenekerfuneralhome.com.

David Wayne Clarke will be remembered for his gentle spirit, his devotion to family, and the quiet strength that guided him throughout his life. Though he preferred a private life away from attention, the impact he made on those around him will not be forgotten.
