Life & Career of Ellen Seader
Ellen Seader was born on August 14, 1944, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Raised in a close and loving family, she learned early in life the values of compassion, hard work, and faith. Those principles guided her throughout her personal and professional journey.
Ellen graduated from Harrisburg Central High School before continuing her education at Millersville University, where she pursued studies in education and literature. She later dedicated more than 35 years of her life to teaching elementary school students across Lancaster County.
Known for her patience and warm personality, Ellen became a favorite among both students and parents. Many former students often spoke about the lasting impact she had on their lives, remembering her classroom as a place of encouragement, creativity, and care.
Teaching was more than a profession for Ellen—it was her passion. She believed every child deserved support, understanding, and the opportunity to succeed. Her dedication to education earned her the admiration of colleagues and community members alike.
Outside of her career, Ellen enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, baking homemade desserts, and volunteering at local church events. She especially loved hosting family gatherings during the holidays, where her laughter and warmth brought everyone together.
Ellen also enjoyed reading, sewing, and supporting local charities that focused on children and education. She lived a life centered around service and compassion, always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

Family Members
Ellen Seader is survived by her loving children, Michael Seader and Jennifer Wallace; her cherished grandchildren, Emily, Noah, and Caroline; and her younger brother, Thomas Bennett.
She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, close friends, and former students whose lives were touched by her kindness and guidance.
Ellen was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard Seader, with whom she shared 52 wonderful years of marriage. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Margaret Bennett.
Her family takes comfort in knowing that Ellen’s legacy of love, compassion, and generosity will continue through the many lives she influenced.
Funeral Details
Family and friends are invited to attend visitation services for Ellen Seader on Friday, May 22, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Lancaster Community Funeral Home in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
A celebration of Ellen’s life will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Grace Lutheran Church, with Reverend Samuel Porter officiating. Burial will follow at Meadowbrook Memorial Cemetery.
The Seader family welcomes all who knew Ellen to join them in honoring and celebrating her remarkable life and enduring legacy.
In place of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to local literacy programs or educational charities, causes that were especially meaningful to Ellen throughout her lifetime.
