William F. “Bill” Kullman, 79, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 21, 2026.
William F. “Bill” Kullman, a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, and respected member of the Indianapolis community, entered into eternal rest on May 21, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Known for his strong work ethic, quick wit, generous spirit, and steadfast integrity, Bill lived a life of purpose, faith, and deep commitment to those he loved. He will be remembered as a man who led by example and left a lasting legacy of honor and kindness.
A Life Well Lived
William Frederick Kullman was born on August 12, 1946, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Affectionately known as “Bill” throughout his life, he grew up in a hardworking German-American family on the city’s south side. After graduating from Southport High School in 1964, Bill proudly served in the United States Army from 1965 to 1967. His military service taught him discipline, leadership, and the importance of service before self.
Following his honorable discharge, Bill built a successful career in manufacturing and engineering. For more than 42 years, he worked with dedication at several prominent Indianapolis companies, eventually advancing to senior production manager. Colleagues remembered him as a fair, knowledgeable leader who mentored many young professionals and always emphasized quality, safety, and doing things the right way. He retired in 2012 but remained active in local trade associations and enjoyed sharing his expertise with others.
Bill was a longtime faithful member of Southport United Methodist Church, where he served on various committees and volunteered with the men’s ministry. He enjoyed golfing, fishing at Geist Reservoir, restoring classic cars in his garage, and cheering for the Indiana Hoosiers and Indianapolis Colts. Family vacations, weekend barbecues, and holiday traditions were among the highlights of his life. He took great pride in teaching his children and grandchildren practical skills and the importance of faith and family values.
Surviving Family Members
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Patricia Ann (Reynolds) Kullman of Indianapolis; his children: son Michael (Jennifer) Kullman of Carmel, Indiana, and daughter Lisa (Mark) Thompson of Fishers, Indiana; his cherished grandchildren: Tyler, Madison, and Ethan Kullman, and Abigail and Jackson Thompson; and many dear siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick and Margaret Kullman, and his brother, Richard Kullman.
Funeral Details and Arrangements
A Celebration of Life service for William F. “Bill” Kullman will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Southport United Methodist Church in Indianapolis, with Pastor Steven Lang officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday, May 29, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Flanner Buchanan Funeral Center – Southport.
Interment with military honors will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will include his son, son-in-law, and grandsons.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Southport United Methodist Church or to the Wounded Warrior Project in Bill’s honor.
