Susan K. (Eloph) Bisig Obituary | May 7, 2026

Susan K. Bisig, 68, of Fort Wayne, IN, passed away on Thursday afternoon, May 7, 2026, at her residence. She was born on January 13, 1958, in Fort Wayne, IN, the daughter of the late James and Carol (Griem) Eloph. On November 26, 1977, Susan married Duane Bisig, he preceded her in death on March 7, 2022.

She graduated from Elmhurst High School in 1976, and was a member of New Beginnings Faith Center. Susan found joy in serving through a variety of different church ministries.

She loved to attend family gatherings, cherishing every chance to be surrounded by the people who meant the most to her. Susan also enjoyed going to the Johnny Appleseed Festival, Cedar Point, and making trips to Shipshewana.

Susan loved to spend time at craft fairs and concerts. She worked at Rickers/GetGo for

14 years, as a store manager, and then was the church secretary at New Beginnings.

She is survived by her son, Ian (Cassie) Bisig of Fort Wayne, IN; a stepdaughter, Amy (John) Burmood of Benson, IL; 4 siblings, Vickie (Bob) Scholl of Fort Wayne, IN, Debbie Eloph of Fort Wayne, IN, Kevin (Suzi) Eloph of Fort Wayne, IN, & Nancy (John) Sauer; 3 sisters-in-law, Rochelle Gereg of Fort Wayne, IN, Sue Bisig of Fort Wayne, IN, & Jane Bisig of Dyer, IN; 4 grandchildren, Zak Burmood, Ryley Burmood, Eryn Burmood & Zane Bisig; along with many nieces and nephews.

Susan was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Duane Bisig; 3 brothers-in-law, Ralph Gereg, Keith Bisig & Roger Bisig.

Visitation will be from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 15, 2026, at Haggard-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at New Beginnings Faith Center, with visitation prior to the service from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. Pastor Bob Miller will be officiating.
