Monna June Connor, age 89, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on January 19, 1937, in Perry County, Indiana, Monna lived a life marked by compassion, quiet strength, and deep devotion to the people she loved.
Born to Arnold Richard Beard and Mary Fern Mills Beard Baxter, Monna carried a caring spirit throughout her entire life. She pursued higher education and earned her Bachelor’s Degree before dedicating more than 30 years to nursing and education through her work at Floyd Medical Center and the Georgia School. Whether caring for patients, encouraging students, or supporting coworkers, she made people feel seen, comforted, and valued.
Faith was an important part of Monna’s life. She was a longtime member of West Rome Baptist Church, where she built lasting friendships and found joy in worship and fellowship. Her gentle nature, steady faith, and willingness to help others left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.
Above all else, Monna loved her family deeply. She treasured time spent with her children, grandchildren, sisters, and extended family, and she found her greatest happiness in simply being together.
She is survived by her son, Robert Connor III and his wife, Frances Connor; her daughters, Kimberly Connor and Stephanie Osteen and her husband, Kory Osteen; her grandchildren, Robert Connor IV and Sarah Gilbreath and her husband, Jordan Gilbreath; and her sisters, Margaret Elaine Wynn and her husband, Bruce Wynn, and Lou Ann Osei.
Monna was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Theodore Connor II; her son, Todd Connor; her brother, Jerry Arnold Beard; and her sister, Kathy Lynn Beard.
Those who knew Monna will remember her for her caring heart, her quiet wisdom, and the love she so freely gave to family, friends, and all those fortunate enough to cross her path. Her memory will continue to live on in the lives she touched so deeply.
A Graveside Service will be held on October 16, 2026, at 2:00 PM at the Mausoleum Chapel of Oaknoll Memorial Gardens. Inurnment will follow the service.
