Mary Burnley Obituary May 8, 2026

Mary Hill Burnley, 83, of Bonneau Beach, passed away peacefully on Friday afternoon, May 8, 2026, in a St. Stephen nursing facility. She was born on February 3, 1943, in Moncks Corner, SC the daughter of Clyde Raymond Hill, Sr. and Myrtle Still Hill.

Mary was a graduate of Berkeley High School and worked as a transport deputy for the Berkeley County Sherriff’s Office. She was also a former employee of Home Telephone Company. She loved spending time on the water, especially fishing, and won many tournaments over the years. Her biggest catch was a 75-pound catfish from the Cooper River, a story her family and friends will always remember. She also enjoyed golfing and was a former softball player. Mary especially cherished the time she spent with her family and friends, whether cooking out together, gathering for fish fries, or simply enjoying one another’s company.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Don C. Burnley; her brother, Clyde Raymond Hill, Jr.; and her niece, Whitney Leigh Hill.

She is survived by her loving husband, Donald Ray Burnley, and her nephew Johnny C. Hill of Moncks Corner.

A service will be held at a later date according to Dial-Murray Dial Murray Funeral Home Moncks Corner.

Mary will be remembered for her strength, kindness, and the love she shared with her family and friends. Her memory will be treasured by all who knew her.
