It is with profound sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the tragic passing of Katherine “Kat” Torbick, a beloved 43-year-old woman from Illinois. Kat was taken from this world too soon on May 1, 2026, following a domestic violence incident in Schaumburg. Her death, ruled a homicide by strangulation, has deeply shaken her family, friends, colleagues, and the broader Illinois community.
Kat is remembered as a vibrant, compassionate, and dedicated soul whose warm presence and kind heart touched everyone she met. She brought professionalism, care, and genuine connection to her work as a valued member of the Fox River MedSpa team. To her coworkers, she was more than a colleague — she was family, part of a close-knit sisterhood that cherished her enthusiasm, support, and positive spirit.
Those who knew Kat describe her as someone who lived with purpose and kindness. She was passionate about her career in the medical spa field and was known for making others feel comfortable, valued, and cared for. Her smile, her energy, and her ability to uplift those around her left a lasting impact on clients and friends alike.

Kat’s sudden and heartbreaking loss has left an immeasurable void in the lives of her loved ones. She will be deeply missed by her family, her Fox River MedSpa team, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. In her honor, the team at Fox River MedSpa is planning a donation-based Domestic Violence Continuing Education event, with proceeds supporting Refuge for Women, turning their grief into action and awareness.
Though her life was cut short by violence, Kat’s memory will live on through the love she shared and the difference she made in her community. Her story serves as a painful reminder of the importance of speaking out against domestic violence and supporting those in need.
Our deepest condolences go out to Kat’s family, friends, coworkers at Fox River MedSpa, and everyone whose life she brightened. May you find strength in each other and comfort in the beautiful memories she leaves behind.
Rest in peace, Kat. Your light and kindness will never be forgotten. 🕊️
