Gloria Paules Obituary
Gloria Jean (Smith) Paules, 79, of Amity Township, died May 6, 2026 at Tower Health – Reading Hospital, West Reading.
She was the wife of Neil William Paules whom she married on August 26, 1967.
Born August 29, 1946, in Fredericksville, she was a daughter of the late Luther Smith and Beatrice (Anderson) Smith Moyer.
Gloria was a 1964 graduate of Daniel Boone High School. She then went on to earn her bachelor’s degree in 1968 and master’s degree in 1972, from Kutztown State College.
A teacher her entire career, she taught at Daniel Boone High School from 1969-1973; did home tutoring for a number of years and retired as an adjunct instructor from Reading Area Community College in 2016.
Gloria was a member of Reading Women’s Bowling Association, Women’s 600 Bowling Club and Goldwing Road Rider’s Association – Chapter A.
She enjoyed bowling, gardening, line dancing, Zumba, playing Sudoku, vacationing with her husband, seeing shows in Branson, MO, and Christmastime with the whole family gathered.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are her two sons: Richard W. Paules of Macungie and David N. Paules, companion of Andrew Bertison of Edgemoor, DE.
Gloria was preceded in death by her sister, Gail (Smith) Orner.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, May 13th at 11 a.m. at Stitzel Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 423 Main Street, Oley.
Viewings will be held Tuesday evening from 6-8 and Wednesday morning from 10-11.
Burial will follow at Slatedale Cemetery, Washington Township, Lehigh County.
