Geraldine “Gerry” Davin Joy, ageless and timeless (yet actually 96) went on her final journey on May 4th, 2026. A longtime resident of West Hartford, she summered with family for many years at Sunset Beach in Branford. Gerry attended Teacher College of CT (now CCSU) and realized her career as an educator for West Hartford schools. Two of her favorite sayings were “everything happens for a reason” and “busy here, busy there; to find her quiet was something rare”. Gerry traveled the world with her husband John and was an avid skier, walker, “talker” & knitter. Gerry leaves behind her loving husband of 61 years, John and her two children, Katherine Joy and John Davin Joy. She was a loving and devoted “Auntie” to her sister’s nine children. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, May 12th from 9:30-10 a.m. at the St. Patrick-St. Anthony Church, 285 Church St., Hartford, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m.
