Deacon Willie C. Jackson, Jr. Obituary | April 27, 2026
Deacon Willie C. Jackson, Jr., was born August 30, 1948, in Pensacola, Florida, to the late Willie C. Jackson, Sr. and Trudy (Daniels) Jones. He graduated from Booker T. Washington High School and later relocated to Hartford, Connecticut, in 1979.
A faithful servant of God, Deacon Jackson was an active member of The First Cathedral, where he was ordained as a Deacon in 1980. He faithfully served as a Missionary, Willing Worker, van driver, Sunday School teacher, Youth Evangelism instructor, and mentor to youth deacons.
He worked as a Certified Nurse Aide at Sacred Heart Hospital, later as a machinist at Pratt & Whitney for 14 years, and retired from the Bloomfield Board of Education, serving at Carmen Arace and Bloomfield High School.
Known for his joyful spirit, wisdom, and love for people, Deacon Jackson touched many lives through his faith, humor, and encouragement. He especially cherished attending the “Big Meeting” in Alabama and spending time with his beloved Daniels family.
On April 27, 2026, Deacon Jackson peacefully transitioned to be with the Lord.
Deacon Jackson was preceded in death by his parents, Willie C. Jackson, Sr., Trudy Jones (Sam Jones, deceased), and his sister, Lucille Wiggins.
He leaves to cherish his memory his son, Rev. Adrian Jackson (Rev. Heather Simpson-Jackson); daughter, Sharetta Nicole Reids; sister, Elizabeth Showers (Jessie Jones); and former wives, Min. Mary Shears Blackmon and Linda Chester, godchildren; devoted friends; and a host of loving family members, church family, and friends.
His legacy of faith, service, love, and laughter will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
Deacon Jackson’s family will receive family and friends on Friday, May 15, 2026, from 10am-11am, followed by a Homegoing Celebration at 11am, at The First Cathedral, 1151 Blue Hills Ave, Bloomfield, CT. The interment will follow immediately after in Mountain View Cemetery, Bloomfield, CT.
