Dan Robert Sabbah, known to family and friends as Dan, passed away naturally on May 10, 2026, in Great Barrington, Massachusetts, at the age of 69.
Born on August 24, 1956, in Brooklyn, New York, Dan lived a life marked by warmth, ambition, and devotion to the people and pursuits he loved. He was the beloved son of the late Marc Sabbah and the late Huguette Ouaknine, and the cherished brother of Gerard Sabbah. He was the proud father of Danielle Sabbah and Alexa Sabbah, who brought great joy and meaning to his life. Those who knew Dan will remember him as a loving, intelligent, and generous man whose presence left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to share in his company.
Dan pursued his education at the University of Colorado Boulder, where he developed the foundation for a career defined by leadership, creativity, and determination. He later became the CEO and Founder of Global Design Concepts, a role through which he brought vision and commitment to his work. His professional life reflected not only his business acumen, but also his ability to inspire trust and respect in those around him. He approached his responsibilities with care and purpose, and he took pride in building something meaningful through hard work and perseverance.
Outside of his professional accomplishments, Dan embraced life with enthusiasm and energy. He had a deep love of sailing, a passion that was recognized when he earned first place in the 1986 Flying Scot Sailing Associate Challenger Division. The water offered him both challenge and peace, and his love of the sport remained an important part of his identity. He also enjoyed skiing, bike riding, golfing, barbecuing, listening to music, and watching movies. Whether he was outdoors enjoying an active day or spending quiet time with those he loved, Dan found joy in the simple and lasting pleasures of life.
Dan will be remembered not only for what he achieved, but for the spirit with which he lived. He was a man of intelligence and generosity, and he carried himself with a kindness that made others feel welcome and valued. Dan is survived by his daughters, Danielle Sabbah and Alexa Sabbah, and his brother, Gerard Sabbah. He was preceded in death by his father, Marc Sabbah, and his mother, Huguette Ouaknine. His memory will remain a blessing to all who loved him
