Anthony Lauren Bilges Obituary

Anthony Lauren Bilges passed away on May 5, 2026, at the age of 63, at his home in Minnetonka, Minnesota.

He will be remembered as a creative and expressive man whose humor, storytelling, and artistic spirit left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

Anthony graduated from Minneapolis Technical College with a certificate in Cabinetry. He carried that hands-on creative mindset throughout his life, often expressing himself through building, art, writing, and music.

Those close to him knew him for his quick wit and natural ability to make people laugh. He had a way of turning everyday moments into stories, often shared with humor and personality that felt completely his own.

In daily life, Anthony enjoyed simple comforts and familiar routines. He liked living off the land, drinking coffee with two sugars, Coca-Cola, and ice cream. Music was always part of his world, especially classic rock artists like AC/DC and The Rolling Stones.

He also spent time playing guitar, creating art, writing, watching the news, and occasionally listening to a police scanner. More than anything, he valued conversation and connection with the people around him.

Anthony will be remembered by family and friends for his creativity, humor, and individuality. Even in ordinary moments, he had a presence that made life feel more interesting and alive.

He is survived by his siblings Deborah Bilges, Jewel Bilges, Michele Bilges, and Jo Robbins; many nieces and nephews; and his stepfather, Terry Dalager.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lauren Bilges; his mother, Carole Dalager (Lorentzen); his daughter, Nicole Schmidt; and his sister, Justine Bilges.

A graveside service will be held at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, May 27 at Section Three Mausoleum at Washburn-McReavy Hillside Cemetery, 2600 19th Ave NE, Minneapolis, Minnesota.
