Known for her bright spirit, warm smile, compassionate heart, and quiet strength, Lynne lived a life filled with grace, kindness, and deep devotion to her family and community. She will be remembered as a woman who brought joy, comfort, and love to everyone fortunate enough to know her.
A Life Well Lived
Lynne Elizabeth Annable was born on October 12, 1946, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She grew up in a loving family on the city’s east side, where she learned the values of faith, hard work, and caring for others. After graduating from Riverside High School, Lynne attended the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, earning a degree in Elementary Education.
She dedicated over 35 years to teaching in the Milwaukee Public Schools system, primarily as a beloved second-grade teacher. Generations of students remembered her as the patient, creative, and encouraging educator who made learning fun and helped every child feel seen and special. Even after retiring in 2009, Lynne remained active in education through volunteer tutoring and church programs.
In 1969, Lynne married the love of her life, Thomas “Tom” Richard Annable. Together they built a beautiful home and raised a family grounded in love, laughter, and strong Christian values. She was a longtime active member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday school, and organized many fellowship events. Lynne had a passion for gardening, baking, reading, and spending summers at the family cottage in Door County. Her famous chocolate chip cookies and beautifully decorated holiday tables were always anticipated at family gatherings.
