Leroy Labrew, 77, of Little Rock, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 20, 2026.
Leroy Labrew, a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, and respected member of the Little Rock community, entered into eternal rest on May 20, 2026, surrounded by his family. Known for his strong work ethic, warm smile, generous spirit, and quiet wisdom, Leroy lived a life of integrity, faith, and deep commitment to those he loved. He will be remembered as a man who worked hard, loved deeply, and always made time to help others.
A Life Well Lived
Leroy James Labrew was born on October 3, 1948, in Little Rock, Arkansas. Raised in a close-knit family, he learned the values of honesty, perseverance, and respect from an early age. He graduated from Hall High School in 1966 and proudly served in the United States Army from 1967 to 1971. His military service instilled in him a lifelong sense of duty and patriotism that guided him throughout his life.
After returning home, Leroy built a successful career in the transportation and logistics industry. For more than 40 years, he worked with dedication for several companies in Central Arkansas, eventually becoming a senior fleet supervisor. Colleagues remembered him as a fair, reliable leader who mentored many young workers and always emphasized safety and doing the job right. He retired in 2014 but stayed active by volunteering with local veterans’ organizations and helping neighbors with vehicle repairs.
Leroy was a longtime faithful member of Greater New Hope Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and participated in the men’s ministry. He enjoyed fishing on the Arkansas River, coaching youth baseball, gardening, and watching Arkansas Razorbacks football. Family cookouts, weekend fishing trips, and holiday gatherings were among his greatest joys. He took special pride in passing down life lessons, family traditions, and strong values to his children and grandchildren.

Leroy is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Shirley Ann (Thompson) Labrew of Little Rock; his children: son Michael (Teresa) Labrew of Conway, Arkansas, and daughter Angela (Kevin) Thompson of North Little Rock, Arkansas; his cherished grandchildren: Tyler, Madison, and Ethan Labrew, and Abigail and Jackson Thompson; and many dear siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends.

A Heartfelt Tribute
Leroy Labrew was a man of quiet strength and unwavering love. He never sought the spotlight, yet his steady presence was the foundation his family relied upon. As a husband, he was loyal and supportive. As a father and grandfather, he was patient, encouraging, and always ready with a story from his Army days or a piece of practical wisdom. He taught his family the importance of hard work, keeping your word, and treating others with respect and kindness.
Whether on the job, coaching a baseball team, or sitting on the porch with his grandchildren, Leroy showed what it means to live with purpose and presence. He cherished his marriage to Shirley, his faith in God, and the simple blessings of life — early morning fishing trips, family dinners, and watching his loved ones grow. His warm laugh and gentle guidance will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
Though our hearts are heavy with grief, we find comfort knowing Leroy has gone home to his Heavenly Father, reunited with loved ones who went before him. His legacy of faith, family, and integrity will continue to guide and inspire his loved ones for generations to come.
