Celebrating the Full Life of Jimmy Val Henrie
WELLINGTON, UTAH — Our beloved father, grandfather, master craftsman, and friend, Jimmy Val Henrie, age 85, returned peacefully to his Heavenly Father on May 21, 2026. He was surrounded by the family he so fiercely loved and is now joyfully reunited with his eternal sweetheart, Diane.
Jimmy entered the world as a true Valentine’s Day surprise on February 14, 1941, born in Price, Utah, to James and Marietta Henrie. Raised in the tight-knit community of Wellington, Jimmy grew up learning the values of honest labor and small-town grit. He attended local schools and proudly graduated from Carbon High School. It was during his sophomore year that a sudden invitation to participate in a rodeo in Manti, Utah, kindled a lifelong passion. Jimmy took to riding bareback, spending his high school years competing in rodeos throughout Carbon and Emery Counties, embodying a cowboy spirit that he carried with him forever.
Following his graduation, Jimmy honorably served his country in the National Guard, a formative time that further sharpened his discipline and work ethic. Soon after, he moved to Salt Lake City to step into a new professional chapter with Eimco.
The true foundation of Jimmy’s life was poured on December 8, 1962, when he married the absolute love of his life, Diane Price Henrie, in the Manti Utah Temple. Sealed for time and all eternity, Jimmy and Diane built a beautiful life anchored in unwavering faith, deep mutual devotion, and five cherished children.
Jimmy was a titan of hard work. Throughout his long and distinguished career, he lent his expertise to several major industrial names, including GE, Kennecott, and Kaiser Steel. He consistently advanced through the ranks from an expert Motor Winder to a trusted Maintenance Superintendent, all while earning his formal Electrician Certification. Later, he accepted a position with Energy West as Plant Superintendent. In this role, his brilliant technical mind oversaw the complex design, construction, testing, modification, and successful operation of the Hunter Coal Prep Plant.
Jimmy’s talents extended far beyond the workplace; he was a true master of all trades who could design, engineer, or repair absolutely anything. With his own two hands, he built his family’s home in Wellington. Years later, he constructed the very shop that would become a staple in the community: Action Motors & RV. Whether he was precision welding, custom-fabricating with angle iron, or solving a complex structural dilemma, his craftsmanship was flawless and stood as a physical testament to his pride in a job well done.
Yet, for all his strength in iron and steel, Jimmy possessed the soul of an artist. He loved working with oil paints, spending countless hours creating stunning landscapes that captured the natural beauty of the world around him. He was a dedicated fan of Bob Ross, and some of his family’s fondest memories are of Jimmy patiently teaching his children and grandchildren how to mix colors and apply brushstrokes to canvas. An outdoorsman at heart, he found true peace camping, hunting, fishing, and golfing, especially when surrounded by the mountains of Utah and his vast, adoring family.
Jimmy’s legacy of absolute determination, creative brilliance, and quiet devotion leaves an indelible mark on his family. He is survived by his five children: Jayme (Ross) Sacco of Erda, UT; Stacy (Scott) Fincher of Price, UT; Shaunna (Scott) Barney of Price, UT; Jason (Shanelle) Henrie of Springville, UT; and Deborah (Marcus) Bott of St. George, UT. His legacy also shines brightly through his 19 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, all of whom meant the absolute world to him.
He was preceded in death and welcomed home by his loving wife, Diane Price Henrie; his parents, James and Marietta Henrie; his brother, Austin Henrie; and his beloved granddaughter, Abbigail Bott.
