Known affectionately to family and friends as “Beeps,” Jerald Robinson was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, mentor, and cherished member of his community. Life & Career
Jerald Anthony Robinson was born on January 18, 1954, in Detroit, Michigan, to Charles and Gloria Robinson. Raised in a close-knit neighborhood filled with strong family values and lifelong friendships, Jerald developed a deep appreciation for community and connection from an early age.
As a child, Jerald earned the nickname “Beeps,” a name that stayed with him throughout his life and became a symbol of his fun-loving and energetic personality. Friends often joked that no one could make people laugh quite like Beeps could.
Jerald graduated from Cass Technical High School in 1972 before beginning a long and respected career in the automotive manufacturing industry. Over more than four decades, he worked diligently in various leadership and technical roles, earning admiration for his reliability, strong work ethic, and willingness to help others.
Coworkers remember Jerald as someone who brought positivity into every room. He had a gift for lifting spirits during difficult days and treating everyone with kindness and respect regardless of their position or background.
Outside of work, Jerald had a deep love for music, sports, family gatherings, and community events. He enjoyed classic soul music, weekend barbecues, fishing trips, and cheering passionately for Detroit sports teams alongside family and friends.
Jerald also dedicated time to mentoring younger members of the community. He believed strongly in encouraging the next generation to work hard, stay grounded, and value family above all else. His advice, wisdom, and life lessons made a meaningful difference in many lives.
A devoted member of his local church and community organizations, Jerald participated in outreach programs, youth events, and charitable initiatives throughout the years. He quietly supported those in need and never hesitated to lend a helping hand when someone was struggling.
In 1978, Jerald married Denise Robinson, the love of his life and closest companion. Together they built a marriage rooted in loyalty, laughter, faith, and unconditional love. Their forty-eight years together created a lifetime of treasured memories shared with children, grandchildren, and dear friends.
Family members describe Jerald as the heart of every gathering—the person who could make everyone smile, offer encouragement during difficult times, and remind others of what truly mattered in life.

Jerald “Beeps” Robinson is survived by his devoted wife, Denise Robinson; his loving children, Marcus Robinson and wife Alicia Robinson, Tiffany Carter and husband Brandon Carter, and Jerome Robinson and wife Natalie Robinson.
He was also a proud grandfather to Jayden, Amara, Elijah, Sophia, Mason, and Ava, all of whom brought tremendous joy and meaning into his life. Jerald cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren, from attending their activities to sharing stories, music, and laughter together.
He is additionally survived by his sister, Angela Robinson-Williams, his brother, Curtis Robinson, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, church members, lifelong friends, and neighbors who will forever cherish his memory.
Jerald was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Gloria Robinson.
To his family, Jerald was far more than a husband and father—he was a protector, teacher, encourager, and source of endless love and laughter whose presence made every moment brighter.
Funeral Details
A celebration of life service honoring Jerald “Beeps” Robinson will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at Greater Hope Community Church in Detroit, Michigan. Family and friends are invited to attend visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. prior to the service.
Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park.
The family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to local youth mentorship programs or community outreach initiatives in Jerald’s memory, reflecting his lifelong dedication to supporting and uplifting others.
