Bobby Lee Hutchison will be remembered as a hardworking man of strong faith, quiet integrity, and deep devotion to his family and community. With a ready smile, generous spirit, and steadfast character, he lived a life that exemplified honesty, perseverance, and love. Though he is no longer with us, the lessons he taught and the love he gave will remain alive in the hearts of all who knew him.
Life & Career
Born on June 5, 1948, in a small farming community near Muskogee, Oklahoma, Bobby Lee Hutchison was raised with strong rural values. The son of a railroad worker and a homemaker, he learned early the importance of honest labor and looking after one’s family. After graduating from Central High School, Bobby proudly served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam era. His military service instilled in him a deep sense of duty and discipline that guided the rest of his life.
Bobby enjoyed a long and respected career as a master mechanic and shop owner. For over 40 years, he ran Hutchison Auto Repair in Tulsa, where he was known for his fair pricing, quality work, and treating every customer like family. Many local residents trusted Bobby with their vehicles for decades, often saying he was the only mechanic they would call. Even after selling the business in 2015, he continued helping friends and neighbors with repairs well into retirement.
A man of deep faith, Bobby was a longtime member of Grace Baptist Church in Tulsa. He served as a deacon, led the men’s prayer group, and participated in numerous mission projects and community outreach efforts. He loved coaching youth baseball and football, teaching boys not just about sports but about character, respect, and perseverance. In his free time, Bobby enjoyed fishing at Grand Lake, restoring classic cars, gardening, and spending weekends at the family cabin.
His warm personality, sense of humor, and willingness to help anyone in need made him a beloved figure in his neighborhood and church family.

Bobby Lee Hutchison is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Linda Sue (née Thompson) Hutchison, who was his best friend and faithful partner through every season of life. Their marriage was a beautiful example of commitment, teamwork, and enduring love.

To his family, he was “Papaw Bobby,” a steady source of wisdom, strength, and unconditional love.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Ruby Hutchison, and his younger sister, Donna Hutchison Mills.

Tribute Message
Bobby Lee Hutchison lived a life rooted in faith, family, and honest work. He taught us that a man’s worth is measured not by what he owns, but by how he treats others and the promises he keeps. Whether under the hood of a car, on the baseball field with kids, or kneeling in prayer, Bobby gave his best in everything he did.
He faced life’s challenges with courage and grace, always trusting in God and leaning on his family. Even in his later years, as health issues arose, Bobby maintained his sense of humor and deep gratitude for the blessings in his life. His favorite advice — “Work hard, love harder, and trust the Lord” — perfectly captured who he was.
