David Allan Brown Obituary | April 1, 2026

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of David Allan Brown, 49, of North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, formerly of Colchester, Connecticut, who passed away unexpectedly on April 1, 2026.

Born on December 22, 1976, in Jackson, NJ, he was the son of Michael and Sandra Brown of South Windsor, CT. Dave graduated in 1995 from South Windsor High School and went on to further his education at Manchester Community College. While attending MCC, he was offered employment with the State of Connecticut Department of Correction as a Correctional Officer. He had a very successful career working in several different capacities, earning many accolades. After 20 years of dedicated service with the DOC, he officially retired in 2019. He then went on to work at Hoosier Tire East, Manchester, CT, alongside his brother Brian. The two of them always shared a love for racing and have countless memories trackside. He continued working for Hoosier Tire East until he fulfilled his dream to move to South Carolina.

Dave’s greatest joy was his daughter Alexandra, to whom he dedicated his life. He never, ever missed a dance competition, recital, or any other school event or activity she was involved in. He was always front and center, cheering her on, and he was so proud of all her achievements. They also shared many special memories at the race track together and spent many days riding their quads at the trails and sand pits.

Dave also spent many years snowmobiling and jet skiing and was an avid motocross racer. Starting at a very young age, he raced dirt tracks throughout the Northeast and at supercross events in stadiums in CT and MA up until the start of his career with the Department of Correction. His later joy in life was his 2005 Harley-Davidson Fatboy. Over the years, he took great pride in customizing his bike and enjoyed countless hours riding with friends and attending many bike events. He was also a proud and loyal fan of the Buffalo Bills, standing by his team through every high and low.

Dave is survived by his daughter, Alexandra Brown and former spouse Melissa Brown, both of South Carolina, his parents, Michael and Sandra Brown, his sister and brother-in-law, Julie and Paul Hogan, his brother and sister-in-law, Brian and Elizabeth Brown, a very special nephew, Jake Brown, all of South Windsor, CT, and a special niece, Casey Doyle of Arlington, MA. He also leaves his closest friends Jay Guerrera, Matt Pacquing, Jeremy Smith, John Krause, Rich and Larry Dubord and numerous extended family and friends. Dave was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Millard and Bernice Brown and his maternal grandparents, Harry Jr. and Bonnie Story.
