William J. Moegen Obituary March 17, 2026
William “Bill” J. Moegen, of North Wales, PA, and a long-time resident of Hilltown,
PA, passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at his residence. He was 82.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret M. Moegen. The couple would have
celebrated their 60 th wedding anniversary in June.
Born on February 7, 1944, in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of William and
Genevieve Moegen. He was the only brother to the late Genevieve “Jenny” Bowers and
Carol Moegen.
A proud alumnus and 1962 graduate of North Catholic High School, he was the
first person in his family to ever graduate from college. He credited the priests who
educated him for inspiring him to attend college. He received a B.S. in Accounting from
LaSalle University in 1966.
He began his career working in accounting for several Philly based companies,
including Cottman Transmission and Aamco. In the 1980s, he started his own Finance
and Accounting Executive search firm and worked from home before that was a trend.
Having a home office permitted him to focus his time on the most important
people in his life, his wife and children. It also allowed him to make a significant impact
on his local community through his contributions to Deep Run Valley Sport Association.
During his almost 20-year tenure at Deep Run, not only did he coach his 3 children, but
he was also an active member of the board and served as treasurer. As a coach, he
always emphasized fun over winning, and kids of all skill levels were given playing time.
He was inducted into the Deep Run Hall of Fame and made life-long best friends.
He was open and proud of his sobriety. March 17th was his 43rd anniversary of
sobriety. His honesty gave him the opportunity to counsel countless others who were
struggling with their own sobriety. During the early years of his sobriety, he threw himself
into transforming the back yard into a beautiful garden. His garden was his life’s passion
and later became the backdrop for his daughters’ weddings.
He is survived by his 3 children, Janine Kopf and her husband Ian of Sarasota,
FL, Tim Moegen and his wife Christina Hong of Mission Viejo, CA, and Tiffany Moegen
Hagan and her husband Brian of North Wales, PA. He is also survived by his 5
grandchildren who he loved so much, Maddie, Kendra, Hudson, Brandon and Kayla. He
is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
