Roger Allen Whitis was born on February 3, 1953, in Frankfort, Kentucky, to Harold and Evelyn Whitis. Raised in a hardworking and close-knit family, Roger learned the values of perseverance, respect, and faith from an early age.
As a young man, Roger developed a strong appreciation for craftsmanship and practical skills. He graduated from Franklin County High School in 1971 before beginning a lifelong career in the manufacturing and construction industries.
Over the course of more than forty years, Roger became widely respected for his dedication, reliability, and leadership. Coworkers admired his ability to solve problems calmly and his willingness to mentor younger employees entering the field. Roger believed that success came through honesty, consistency, and treating others fairly.
Outside of his professional life, Roger found joy in spending time outdoors and with family. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, camping, and attending local sporting events with his grandchildren. Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Evelyn Whitis, and his brother, Thomas Whitis.

Funeral Details
A celebration of life service honoring Roger Whitis will be held on Friday, May 22, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Faith Baptist Church in Lexington, Kentucky. Visitation with family and friends will begin at 11:00 a.m. prior to the service.
Burial will follow at Bluegrass Memorial Gardens.
