As a young man, Pete developed a love for mechanics, woodworking, and spending time outdoors. He graduated from Savannah High School in 1965 before proudly serving his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam era. His military service remained one of the proudest chapters of his life, shaping the discipline and sense of duty that guided him throughout the years.

Outside of work, Pete enjoyed fishing trips, gardening, watching college football, and gathering with family for weekend cookouts. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren, teaching them life lessons, sharing stories from his younger years, and supporting them in every stage of life.
Pete was also deeply involved in his local church and veterans’ organizations. He volunteered at community events, participated in charity fundraisers, and quietly supported families in need whenever he could. His generosity often went unnoticed because he never sought praise or recognition.
