It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Judith “Judy” Ann Perkins, age 71, of Biloxi, Mississippi, who passed away peacefully on May 14, 2026, in her sleep after a courageous battle with pulmonary fibrosis.
Born on August 5, 1954, in Biloxi, Mississippi, Judy was the daughter of the late Edward and Priscilliana Ziarko. She will be remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend whose life was defined by love, resilience, and quiet strength.
Judy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Roy R. Perkins, and her cherished grandson, Dantae Scott, along with many pets who brought her comfort and joy throughout her life.
She is survived by her children: George B. Perkins and his wife Courtney, Jennifer Mahoney, and Holly Mays and her husband Brian. Her legacy continues through her eight grandchildren: Danaeja Davis, Kayla Turner, Brian Turner, Davion Davis, Landon Perkins, Karson Perkins, Jackson Mays, and her late grandson Dantae Scott.
Judy grew up with strong values shaped by her father’s service in the United States Air Force. These values stayed with her throughout her life and were reflected in the way she cared for her home and family. She was known for creating a warm and welcoming home where everyone felt comfortable and cared for.
She shared a long and meaningful marriage with Roy R. Perkins, and together they raised their children George and Holly. From her earlier marriage to Robert, she also welcomed her daughter Jennifer, forming a blended family she deeply loved. Judy’s home was always filled with laughter and small family moments that became lasting memories.
A proud graduate of Ruskin High School, Judy began her professional career at the age of 20 with the federal government. Over the years, she served with dedication in several agencies, including the Department of Transportation, the Federal Aviation Administration, and the Lake City Army Ammunition Facility. Her work took her across the United States, where she attended training programs and professional seminars, with Alaska being one of her favorite destinations.
Outside of work, Judy had a deeply personal and expressive personality. She loved collecting Precious Moments figurines and decorating her home with flowers, especially in shades of purple, her favorite color. Her walls were filled with photographs of her grandchildren, reflecting the central role family played in her life.
She was a passionate supporter of Kansas City sports, especially the Royals baseball team and Chiefs football. She loved cheering for players like Salvy, Mahomes, Kelce, and Jones, and rarely missed a game.
Judy also had a deep love for animals, a creative spirit, and a naturally empathetic nature. Friends and family often described her as a good listener who offered thoughtful advice and steady support during difficult times.
A celebration of Judy’s life will be held on May 20, 2026, at Park Lawn Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Wayside Waifs at www.waysidewaifs.org
, an organization close to Judy’s heart.
The family extends their deepest gratitude to the staff at St. Mary’s/Ignite for the care, kindness, and compassion they showed Judy during her final months.
Judy’s warmth, wisdom, and love will continue to live on through her family, friends, and all those who were fortunate enough to know her. Her life leaves behind a lasting legacy of strength, devotion, and unconditional love.
