Andrea Osgood N. Chesky Obituary | Westerly, RI
Andrea (Osgood) Chesky, 84, of Charlestown, passed away at Westerly Hospital on Sunday, April 19, 2026, from complications due to Alzheimer’s disease. She was the wife of Gary Chesky for 65 years.
Born in Hartford, CT, she was the daughter of the late Henry Allen Osgood and Beatrice (Downs) Osgood. She eloped with Gary to Keene, NH, with her soon-to-be father-in-law driving the getaway car, much to the dismay of her parents.
They moved from Hartford to Torrington, CT, and eventually settled in Charlestown, RI, in 1991. Andrea happily adjusted to beach life and enjoyed combing for shells, clamming, trips to Cape Cod and Martha’s Vineyard.
Andrea worked at Bradlees in Torrington, CT, before receiving her AS from CT State Community College, Manchester and BS from the University of Rhode Island. She loved her new career as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant and was employed by Dr. Steven Graff in Pawtucket and at Westerly Hospital.
She had a sweet, friendly personality coupled with boundless energy. She volunteered at Wilcox Park and the Fantastic Umbrella Factory Nursery. A member of the Worldwide Pressed Flower Guild, she taught flower crafting as a guest instructor at The Elms. She also brought her calming presence to teaching Tai Chi classes.
She leaves behind her husband, Gary Chesky; daughters, Claudia (Randy) Richter and Melissa (Craig) Allen; sisters, Valerie (David) Carrier and Norene (Arnie) Haley; grandchildren, Tyler Quinn, Madison Quinn and Jake (Chelsea) Richter; great-granddaughter Ainsley Murphy and great-grandson Liam Quinn; and many nieces and nephews.
Andrea was predeceased by her parents, son Craig Chesky, and brothers George, Greg and Gerard Osgood.
While there won’t be a service, please consider honoring Andrea’s legacy by donating to either the Wilcox Park in Westerly, RI, or the Westerly, RI Senior Center.
