Tad Scobey Obituary
of Swartz Creek, age 49, loving son and brother, passed away suddenly Friday, May 8, 2026 at McLaren-Flint. Visitation 3pm Wednesday until the time of the service at the funeral home. Funeral service will be held at 6pm Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. Deacon Ron Kenney officiating. Cremation will take place following the service. Tad was born in Flint, Michigan on April 1, 1977, the son of Michael and Janice (Easter) Scobey. He graduated from Swartz Creek High School, Class of 1995 and received a Bachelor’s Degree from Ferris State University. Tad was an avid golfer and was very mechanically inclined. He also enjoyed gardening and had a true green thumb. Tad was an entrepreneur and invented the Tadcooler. He was extremely into health and fitness. Tad owned Southern Yard Trucking in Atlanta, Georgia and enjoyed flipping houses. Surviving are parents, Michael and Janice Scobey; brother, Ryan Scobey; sister, Kyla (John) Rowe; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his aunt, Bonnie Macko-lee, uncle, Tim Scobey and grandparents, Bill and Ruby Easter and Hoyt and Polly Scobey.
