Ruthie Tuttle Obituary
Ruthie (Newsome) Tuttle, age 75, of LaGrange, passed away at home on May 9, 2026. Mrs. Tuttle was born in Craynor, Floyd County, Kentucky, on December 27, 1950, to the late Jay Lee Newsome and Annie (Hall) Newsome. She married Harvey Tuttle on December 31, 1966, in Teaberry, Kentucky. Ruthie was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker and member of Little Flossie Old Regular Baptist Church.
Survivors include:
Husband, Harvey Tuttle of LaGrange.
Daughter, Regina and David Baker of Woodville, Alabama.
13 grandchildren including Trista (Adam) Deetz of Fremont; Lance Fritz and Stacey Gulick of Union City, Michigan; Angel Fritz of Scottsboro, Alabama; Marri (Stephen) Fossett of Scottsboro, Alabama; Bartholomew Thompson, deceased; Joseph Thompson of Auburn; Vincent Chilcote of Indiana; Autumn (Ronald) Renner of Fremont; Delsey Chilcote of LaGrange; Becca (Waylon) Tom of Ashley; Jake Fink of LaGrange; Curtis Fink of Pleasant Lake; and step granddaughter, Alana Baker of Woodville, Alabama. There are many great grandchildren that survive as well.
Ruthie was preceded in death by her parents, Jay and Annie Newsome; daughter, Leinoa Whitaker in 2014; daughter, Leslie Newsome in 2020; grandson, Bartholomew Thompson; and all of her siblings including sisters, Madeline Mitchell, Phyllistene Mitchell, Nevaline Blankenship, Charlene Hoover, and Emma Grace Emory; brothers, Clyde Newsome, Klinon Newsome, and Arnold Newsome.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 13th after 2:00pm and Thursday, May 14th all day at Little Flossie Old Regular Baptist Church in Lisbon with evening services both nights at 6:00pm.
Funeral services will be Friday, May 15, 2026, at 11:00am at the church with the Brethren of Little Flossie Church officiating. Burial will follow at Brushy Chapel Cemetery in LaGrange County.
