Jude Gill, a 15-year-old freshman at Lenape High School, died after he was struck and killed by a vehicle on Sunday, May 3, NBC Philadelphia reported.
Jude was hit while walking along Church Road near Union Mill Road, the outlet said. School officials confirmed his death in a statement to the community.
“Our Lenape Family suffered a tragic loss today with the death of student Jude Gill, a well-respected and beloved member of our freshman class,” said Lenape High School Principal Tony Cattani. “Jude’s death will be felt deeply within our school and throughout our community.”
Jude was part of Mount Laurel Basketball from kindergarten through 8th grade.
“Over those years, he wasn’t just a player—he was a teammate, a friend, and a constant presence in our gyms,” Mount Laurel Basketball wrote. “Coaches, teammates, and families will remember his energy, his love for the game, and the way he showed up for those around him. Our entire community is grieving this tragic loss. We extend our deepest condolences to Jude’s family, friends, classmates, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.”
