Michael Lazzaro Obituary
Michael Dante Lazzaro, 46, of Greensburg, died on Thursday, May 7, 2026, surrounded by his family at home. He was born on Feb. 16, 1980, the son of Dr. Theodore Anthony Lazzaro and Lynda A. DiVittorio Lazzaro. Michael was a member of Our Lady of Grace Church and built a respected career as an attorney with Mears, Smith, Houser, and Boyle, P.C. He was also a former member of the Westmoreland Bar Association, where he was known for his dedication to both his profession and the people he served. Outside of his career, Michael had a deep love for sports and the outdoors. A talented athlete in his younger years, he played soccer and carried that same passion and competitive spirit throughout his life. His greatest joy was being on the water as an avid fly fisherman, fishing some of the most beautiful streams in the world, and he rarely missed the chance to cheer on his favorite teams, especially the Pittsburgh Penguins. Michael was also a proud Master Mason and member of Greensburg Lodge No. 225 Free and Accepted Masons, where he valued the friendships, traditions, and sense of brotherhood he found through the organization. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sisters, Briana Lazzaro and Gina Kriger (Roger); his niece, Gianna Kane; and nephews, Ryan Kane, Kaden Kriger, and Wyatt Kriger; his maternal aunts and uncle, Debra Conte (Greg), Nancy Parkinson (Charles), and Robert DiVittorio (Share); his partner, Maria Garcia; his second mother, Lisa Morelli; cousins, CJ, AJ, and Brady Parkinson; and stepdaughter, Madison Williams. He was preceded in death by his niece, Reagan Kriger. Family and friends will be received from 3 to 7 p.m. on Monday, May 11, 2026, at KEPPLE-GRAFT FUNERAL HOME, 524 North Main St., Greensburg. A Funeral Mass for Michael will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, in St. Vincent Basilica, 300 Fraser Purchase Road, Latrobe. Everyone is asked to please go directly to the church. A Masonic service will be held at 6 p.m. on Monday, May 11, 2026, by members of Greensburg Lodge No. 225. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Theodore A. Lazzaro, MD Fund at the Community Foundation of Westmoreland County in honor of Michael. The foundation was created to support students pursuing careers in medicine and healthcare by helping provide educational opportunities and scholarships to those in need. All proceeds directly support students across five local colleges, helping strengthen the future of healthcare within our community. After all Michael endured throughout his health journey, the family also hopes to continue supporting awareness, education, and future research surrounding the complex medical conditions he courageously faced. Through this, Michael’s story and spirit will continue to make an impact on others for years to come. Click on the link to donate in Michael’s honor, or checks can be made payable to the Theodore A.
