Mrs. Frances Hill Timon, age 93, of Mt. Vernon, died Thursday, May 7, 2026, at the Community Hospice House in Vidalia after an extended illness. She was a native of Wheeler County and a graduate of Glenwood High School. She lived in Wheeler County until moving to Mt. Vernon in the early 1960s. She worked at Ailey Manufacturing for many years and ten years at Montgomery County Senior Center. She was a member of VFW Ladies Auxiliary, the First Baptist Church of Mt. Vernon, the Fidelis Sunday School Class where she sang in the choir and was actively involved with Vacation Bible School. She enjoyed flower gardening, quilting, and sewing.  

She is preceded in death by two husbands, Harrison A. Hill and Al Timon; son, Mackey A. Hill, Sr.; two daughters, Jackie Hill Sharpe and Diane Hill Coleman; three brothers, Isaac McLendon, James Monroe McLendon and an infant brother, Tony Lee McLendon; and two sisters, Reverend Mary Elizabeth McLendon Ennis and Claudia McLendon Carter.

Mrs. Timon is survived by one daughter-in-law, Connie Harrell Hill of Mt. Vernon; seven grandchildren, Charlie Coleman and wife Dawn of Abbeville, Chad Coleman and wife Wendy of Mt. Vernon, Shannon Blaxton and husband Kent of Rincon, Leiane Sharpe Smith of Mt. Vernon, Dusty Sharpe and wife Hillary of Lyons, Addison Hill of Mt. Vernon, and Ashley Adams and husband Hunter of Vidalia; one brother, Johnny Earl McLendon of Vidalia; sixteen great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and two special friends, Jean Brooks and Gail Story Adams.

The funeral service will be held on Monday afternoon, May 11th, 2026, at 3:00 at First Baptist Church of Mt. Vernon with Reverend Karl Hay and Pastor J.D. Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the church on Monday afternoon from 2:00 until just prior to the service.

Pallbearers are Charlie Coleman, Dusty Sharpe, Chad Coleman, Addison Hill, Chase Coleman, and Tommy Coleman.

Honorary pallbearers are First Baptist Church of Mt. Vernon Deacons and Fidelis Sunday School Class.
