Paul Ernest Ayala Obituary May 6, 2026
Age 94 of Murrysville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 6, 2026. Beloved husband of the late Barbara Borland Ayala. Loving father of Babette (Jim) Christman and Paula (Dan) Pizzuto. Devoted grandfather to Dillon (Trey), Joshua, Meghan (Jen), and Brandon. Also survived by his sister, Cecelia (Dan) Winer; and many loving nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Ann (Boyer) Ayala; and his siblings, Jean (Bill) Stewart, Raymond Ayala, Mercedes Bradley, Wilfred Ayala, and Daniel Ayala.
Paul spent more than 40 years working as a baker at Nabisco, where he built a long and respected career before retiring. Outside of work, Paul enjoyed a full and active life filled with the simple pleasures that brought him happiness. He loved playing Mahjong with the ladies and always looked forward to the time spent around the table. He was also an avid bowler and belonged to many leagues in his earlier years, where he enjoyed both the competition and the camaraderie. Playing cards was another favorite pastime, and he could often be found enjoying a good game and the company that came with it.
Paul was a lifelong Steeler fan and took great pride in his season tickets. Whether cheering on his team, sharing a laugh with friends, or enjoying a favorite pastime, Paul found joy in the moments that brought people together.
Above all else, Paul’s greatest joy was spending time with his family. He especially loved hanging out with his grandkids, and he looked forward to those moments more than anything else. Being with them brought him immense happiness, and his face would light up whenever he was surrounded by the people he loved most.
